I’m not a fan of crepes. But Paper Moon Cafe’s Mille Crepe changed my mind about it.
What’s a Mille Crepe? It is a classic French cake consisting of layers of crepes with pastry cream in between each layer. Foodies in Manila call it “crepe cake”. It is the signature dessert at Paper Moon Cafe.

In layers of sweet and decadent thin crepes, we trust.
Dozens of layers of thin crepes with delightful flavored cream in between – there’s something beautiful and dainty about crepe cakes that we just can’t get a hold of. It’s been called several names – mille feuille, gateau de crepe, mille crepes – but whatever you want to call this work of art, this beautiful dessert is here to stay.

We know good Japanese desserts and we know where to find them.
The beauty of Japan never ceases to amaze us. Whether you’ve actually been there or just bitterly scrolling through your Facebook friends’ vacation photos in Tokyo (we’ve been there, we’ve done that), what fascinates us the most is their food (see sushi, sashimi, ramen). Of course, dessert is always involved in every complete meal around the world!

There is no place in the world for bad coffee.
Don’t you just hate being served bad coffee? The thing that’s supposed to jumpstart your day ends up being the one bringing it down. We just can’t think of any reason that would justify bad coffee. So if you’re looking for good coffee in your neighborhood, you’ve come to the right list.

There's something delicate in the way the Japanese make desserts. They're exquisite, almost as if glass cases are there to frame them like the artwork that they are. Everything, from the flavor to the texture ti the combination of those two things, is understated, and it's subtlety that astounds you to great effect. Paper Moon, the newly opened cafe at Glorietta 3, is all this and more.

Here’s a Crepe Cake Worth Every Layer

Would it be wrong to say that I find blissful satisfaction in the feeling of being overstuffed after a fine round of dessert? Perhaps it was my upbringing as a fat kid (don’t pretend—you know the feeling), but when it comes to the sweetest course of any meal, I never go anywhere less than all out. Bring on the slices of chocolate pie, Ma. Birthday cake ice cream and warm bread pudding with a pool of vanilla sauce? Yes, please. I couldn’t care less if I wake up several pounds heavier. There’s always tomorrow.
